Christmas in September

Once upon a time, Isaac loved Summer. I had to hide his shorts to keep him from wearing them out in the snow. All he wanted to wear was flip-flops. Then, he discovered Santa Claus and now he is all about Christmastime. Lucy asks me at least once a week when Christmas is coming. They want to listen to Christmas music all the time and watch "The Muppet Christmas Carol" every Sunday. So, last week, they decided to take control and make things happen. The winter clothes bag was raided:
Hot Chocolate was made:
And the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" very very very loudly. They wanted to turn the air conditioner on until they froze, but I only let it go down to 69. So, the winter clothes didn't last long, but we are still drinking far too much hot chocolate for September. Isaac is also a steady penpal with Santa. We have a direct mail connection with the North Pole through our oven, a la "Mary Poppins." Isaac puts in letters, heats up the oven, and then Santa sends back a letter and an orange. This is really fun and cute on Christmas Eve. . . but I think Santa is getting a little weary of the correspondence and is probably going to go on hiatus until December. Just a theory.
