Family Fun Down South
Our weekend in Alabama wasn't all about the Air Force. After graduation we threw a proper barbeque, thanks to Reese's super pig cooker brought all the way from Florida. When Julie brought the precious Costco chocolate cake, Braden (and many others) were in a very happy place.
And after a day of swimming, eating, laughing, and running. . . this is pretty much how we all felt.

Off We Go Into The Wild Blue Yonder. . .
Daman's brother Braden graduated from Air Force Officer Training School in Alabama. It was cause for a Reynolds celebration, the first time we'd seen some of the family in over a year. Cody and MaShay hadn't even met Emma, our kids didn't know Jessica, and I'd never even met Jason. It was a wonderful weekend, full of patriotic joy, hearty congratulations for Braden, and many wonderful late nights enjoying being together.
Julie let us tag along to a goodbye swim party a friend's house. Emma has no idea she can't swim and would jump off the diving board with or without my help. This girl loves some water.

To Chinatown. .
I teach Seminary in our ward and Daman teaches the same youth in Sunday School. One of the young women stopped coming shortly before we moved in and we've been trying to get to know her better. Her dad owns a restaurant in Chinatown and invited us to come down. So, one afternoon we took Isaac out of school a little early and hit the metro for our adventure to the Far East. It was really fun, really delicious, and really worth the trip.
The waitresses all hovered around our table, looking for any opportunity to interact with Emma, picking up anything she dropped, and cooing over her bouncy curls. They didn't see many curls in that neck of the woods. Or big blue eyes either.

Isaac loved the dumplings and slurped down the wonton soup with gusto. We were proud of the adventurous spirit the kids had with the food. Maybe I should cook Chinese food more often.
