Copa De Mundial 2010!!!!!!

Every four years something magical comes into our lives. More intense than the olympics and certainly more interesting than elections, the World Cup brings us one month of amazing athleticism, great hair, and jaw-dropping goals. We love it. It kind of took over our lives. While I was on vacation with my sisters, I actually tracked down a bar to watch the USA/England game. (My mom was a great sport and even bought me a Shirley Temple for the experience) And when USA took on Slovenia, Isaac got to skip school and we had a full-on soccer party. No vuzuvelas were present, but face paint abounded. I was all on my own when Landon Donovan scored the winning goal against Algeria, and I almost wept with joy. We love soccer, we love America, and if they can ever learn to play defense in the first twenty minutes of a game, then we'll enjoy the next Cup even more. See you in Brazil in 2014!!

Going Private

I know I mentioned this at the end of my last post, but maybe people fell asleep before getting there, so I figured I'd put out one quick little blurb about going private. I'm going to start using this as a scrapbook to make a book for the family, and I'd feel more comfortable being private for all the family details, etc. If you want in, post a comment or send me an email. I do have another blog: www.timeformo.blogspot.com that is my personal blog where I post essays, stories, thoughts yada yada yada and that is wide open to all interested parties and commentators.

We Did It!!

Fairfax Seminary Survivors!!
(I wish someone had told me that I looked like a lion. . . that hair is a little out of control)
It is over. We had a wonderful breakfast party the last day of Seminary. We laughed, I cried, we had donuts (of course) and all rejoiced in the hours of sleep stretching before us. So, with that behind me I am all a'tingle thinking of the new levels of productivity I'll have for the next three months until it all starts over in September. I have stories to write, closets to organize, habits to break, and Sunday naps to enjoy. It is going to be awesome. Teaching seminary is pretty awesome too though, and I do admit that I am going to miss it (just a little bit) and I'm excited for next year. With this nice chunk of time given back to me in my life I also plan on blogging regularly. I've gotten wind of these great sites where I can make a book of my blog and that sounds positively enchanting and gluestick free, so I am totally in. But, in order to really allow this to be a family scrapbook with family details, I think I'm going to go private. That way I'll have no scruples about posting a picture of when Isaac made the bed for Lucy and left a note for her. I won't feel conflicted that I'm doing it just for the masses. Nor will I worry about putting a picture in of Lucy hitting the trashcan with two vacuum cleaner tubes. . . while it is on Isaac's head. Because, hey, it is just for our blog book. So, if you're interested in following, reading, enjoying the Reynolds adventures in life, leave a comment or send me an email and then I'll know to include you in my blog hulahoop (that is the term that Daman uses at work with his clients to talk about their "personal space") So let me know if you want in my blog hula party and you too can be in on all the tantalizing Reynolds updates like how many ways Isaac can get Lucy to scream like a Banshee. Don't worry, I won't be offended if you don't--unless you are related to me by blood or marriage and then I'll take it personally.
PS--my other blog www.timeformo.blogspot.com is not private at all and that is where I post my stories and essays and other flashes of genius. . . or good knock knock jokes.

The Best Show in Town

A Tooteeta, a tooteeta, a tooteetata. . .
I loved watching Isaac's class doing this dance (and I admit I loved doing it at home too)

Way to stay in character Isaac. The Looks of Unbreakable Focus:

Isaac had a wonderful kindergarten experience at Fairfax Villa. Mrs. Ito and Mrs. L were wonderful teachers; structured, kind, and calm. He loved school and made some wonderful friends. I'm sad that my camera died during this concert, it was charming. They sang several songs, recited poems, and afterwards we enjoyed cookies and lemonade and flipped through several different books their teachers had put together about all of their activities throughout the year. So many wonderful projects and experiences--these teachers do wonderful work.
